What the free look actually covers
Whether your pages are indexed. Whether your services have pages of their own or share one. What your Google Business Profile is missing. How the site loads on a phone. Whether two of your pages are fighting each other for the same search.
That is enough to tell you if there is a real problem and roughly which half of the equation it is in. It is not a full audit and we will not pretend otherwise.
You can take the findings anywhere
We write it so another developer could act on it. That is deliberate. If you hand it to the person who built your site and they fix it, that is a good outcome and it costs us nothing we were owed.
The alternative, a report vague enough that only we can act on it, is how this gets a bad name.
What you need to give us
The website address, and ideally access to Search Console. Without Search Console we can see what the site looks like but not what it actually ranks for, which means we are inferring the most useful part.
It takes a couple of minutes to grant and you can revoke it afterward. It is the single thing that makes the difference between a guess and a read.
Sometimes the answer is that you are fine
We have told Kansas City businesses that their site is in reasonable shape and the thing holding them back is something we do not sell. That is a real outcome and it happens often enough to mention.
A free audit that always concludes you need a retainer is not an audit.
What the full audit adds
Specific URLs, specific changes, in priority order, with the reasoning. A link profile read. A proper look at competitors in the map pack. The free version tells you whether to look harder. The paid one tells you exactly where.
Most people do not need the paid version. We will tell you if you are one of them.
Where it goes from there
If the problem is structural, it is usually a Kansas City web design job. If it is content and links, it is the Kansas City SEO services side. If it is the profile, it is map pack work and often the cheapest fix available.
You will know which before you spend anything, which is the point of doing this part for nothing.
Who this is actually useful for
Businesses that suspect something is wrong but cannot tell what. Owners who have been handed a proposal and want a second read before signing it. Anybody who has paid for SEO for six months and cannot point at what changed.
It is less useful if you already know the problem. If you know you have no service pages and no links, you do not need an audit to tell you that, and we will say so rather than taking a week to confirm it.
It is also a reasonable way to find out whether you want to work with us, which is the honest reason most people request one.
What happens if you do nothing
Nothing. You keep the report. We do not chase, we do not add you to a sequence, and the findings do not expire.
Plenty of the audits we send never turn into work and that is a fair trade. A business that fixes its own site from our list is a business that remembers where the list came from.
Questions about the free audit
Yes. No card, no call required to receive it. We would rather you read it and decide than have to sit through a pitch to get it.
Usually two to three business days. If we are waiting on Search Console access it takes as long as that takes.
Once, to ask if you have questions. If you would rather we did not, say so when you request it and we will just send it.
Depth. The free look tells you whether there is a problem and roughly where. The paid one gives you the specific URLs, the specific changes and the priority order.
Almost always. Most of the sites we look at were built by somebody else, and plenty of them were built fine and just never set up to be found.
Not usefully. Most of what we check needs a site search engines have already seen: what is indexed, what it ranks for, how it performs. For a site still in build the better conversation is about structure before launch, which is a different and shorter call. Ask for that instead and we will do it.
